...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER...
.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 344 AM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025
Early morning IR satellite imagery is showing the remains of the
cold front pushing into south Florida, as a cooler and drier
airmass advects into the area today under north and northwest
flow. Onshore breaking swells will continue cause a high risk of
rip currents at area beaches today. Lingering moisture aloft
behind the front will keep skies fairly cloudy today for much of
the area, with the exception of the Nature Coast counties which
should see some clearing in the afternoon. Highs will top out in
the mid to upper 70s today, with drier dew points contributing to
lower humidity. Sunnier skies Wednesday through Friday will let
temperatures climb up slightly, with highs in the upper 70s to mid
80s.
On Friday, a deep trough will dig into the southeastern US,
fueling a surface low that will drag the next cold front into
the Florida Peninsula on Friday night. Global models continue to
keep rain chances modest ahead of this front, but some isolated to
scattered showers cannot be completely ruled out. Cooler air will
then fill in behind the front, with morning lows Sunday and
Monday in the mid 40s and low 50s over the interior.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 344 AM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025
Showers and the occasional storm will gradually clear out from
north to south today, with MVFR and isolated IFR ceilings
impacting area terminals through much of the day. Conditions will
improve somewhat this afternoon, but patchy MVFR ceilings will be
possible again after sunset tonight, especially over southwest
Florida.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 344 AM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025
A few showers will continue to linger over the waters today behind
the departing cold front, as high pressure builds back in from the
northwest. North winds will hold around 15 knots through
Wednesday, then will gradually subside Thursday and Friday. The
next front will push in Friday night and Saturday, increasing
winds slightly and bringing a slight chance of showers.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 344 AM EDT Tue Apr 8 2025
Showers will linger over southwest Florida today behind the front
as cooler air fills back in under north and northwest flow.
Drier air will fill in by Wednesday afternoon, with humidity
percentages dropping into the mid 30s in a few spots, but winds
won`t be quite fast enough to trigger Red Flag Warnings. High
dispersion indices are also expected Wednesday afternoon.
